Our Arnica Balm is made from wild crafted Arnica growing in Alaska's Kenai Peninsula.  This is not made with Arnica Montana, though we have found it to have the same results. We've infused it in olive oil to extract all the properties and combined it with beeswax to create our balm. While ours is a balm, here were some of the suggested uses we found for Arnica oil.

  • Muscle aches, spasms, pulled muscles, or rheumatic pain - A 2007 study found that a homeopathic arnica solution has a positive effect on muscle soreness after marathon running. Arnica is actually one of my recommended natural remedies for delayed onset muscle soreness or DOMS
  • Sprains, bruises, and swelling due to fractures
  • Insect bites  -  Homeopathic arnica can help treat insect bites and stings, especially those that may lead to intense bruising and soreness.
  • Acne -  However, not recommend for applying on broken skin.
  • Hair loss -  a diluted form applied to your scalp can help increase local blood circulation, thereby promoting hair growth.

There are also clinical trials suggesting that using arnica oil or gel topically may be effective in relieving osteoarthritis pain.

Our Devil's Club Balm is made from the root of the Devil's Club gathered either in spring or fall and infused into oil.  Devil's club is an analgesic and is said to be good for pain.

Comfrey has long been know as the "bone knit" botanical.  I grow my own and harvest the leaves which I infuse into oil every fall.  The roots are also usable but I prefer not to dig up my perennial bed.
